RESOLUTION NO. 284
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAR AD EXTmDING
THEIR CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CITY
OF TIJUANA ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF
THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF MEXICO.
WHEREAS, the Republic of Mexico achieved its independence on the 16th
day of September, 1810; and
WHEREAS, the 16th day of September, 1957 represents the 147th
birthday of the Republic of Mexico; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad, speaking in behalf of its citizenry has
enjoyed a warmth of friendship with the City of Tijuana; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is aeious to join with the City of
Tijuana in their remembrance and appreciation of the 147th anniversary of
the independence of the Republic of Mexico,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad that the City Council of the City of Carlsbad herewith extends
to the people of Tijuana our warm hand of friendship in congratulating the
people of Tijuana on this their 147th anniversary of the independence of the
Republic of Mexico.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on the 3rd day of September, 11957, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES:
NOES: None
Mayor Castorena, Councilmen Ledgerwood and Helton.
ABSENT: Councilmen Baird and Robinson.
