RESOLUTION NO. 349
UI: RESOLUTION OF THE CITY C F THE CITY OF CARLSBAD ADOPTING A
MASTER CIVIC CENTER PLAN FOR THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD.
WHEREAS, on February 3, 1958 and February 11, 1958 the Carlsbad
City Planning Commission held duly advertised hearings to consider the
adoption of a Master Civic Center Plan for the City of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of February 1958 the said Planning Commis
sion adopted Resolution No. 53, recommending a Master Civic Center Plan
to the City Council of the City of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, on February 18, 1958 the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad held a duly advertised public hearing to consider the adoption of a
Master Civic Center Plan as recommended by the CarXsbad City Planning
Commission for the City of Carlsbad;
NOW, THEREFORE the City Council of the City of Carlsbad does
hereby FIND AND DECLARE as follows:
1. That the Master Plan for the Civic Center location as recommended
by the Planning Commission is the block bounded on the West by Pi0 Pic0
Drive, on the North by Laguna Drives on the East by Elmwood Avenue and
the South by Elm Avenue, and is the ideal location for a Civic Center for the
City of Carlsbad.
2. That the adoption of the proposed Master Civic Center Plan will
enable the City of Carlsbad to more adequately process its plans for a City
Hall, Fire and Police Building, Community Center Building and City Library
and other facilities necessary to conduct the business of the City of Carlsbad
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad that the Master Civic Center Plan, as recommended by and
certified by the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, is hereby
adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City

of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of March, 1958, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayor Castorena, Councilmen Ledgerwood, Robinson and HeLtoi
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Baird.
