RESOLUTION NO, 594.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, ING APPRECIATION TO HAROLD KEEN FOR SERVICES RENDERED AS "MR, NEWS"
OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY.
EXTEPJD-
WHEREAS, in this great land the people are the only censors of their
government; and
WHEREAS, the basis of our government being the opinion of the people,
the first object of all means of communication should be to give the people
full information; and
WHEREAS, unfettered and unafraid communication insure the principles
of democratic government; and
WHEREAS, HAROLD KEEN, has diligently, faithfully and without
intimidation or bias fay informed the citizens of the County of San Diego
of all newsworthy events; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is most appreciative of the manner in which
HAROLD KEEN has broadcast and disseminated the news;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad does hereby commend and extend its appreciation to
HAROLD KEEN for having so ably, diligently and faithfully served the
people of the County of San Diego by dis&minating all the news.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 15th day of September, 1959,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Grober, Sonneman, Ledgerwood and McPherson.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilwoman Coats,
