RESOLUTION NO. 619
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, ENDORSING THE
NORTHERN SAN DIEGO COUNTY HARBOR DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, small boating has become an increasingly popular recreation
for many citizens in California; and
WHEREAS, t26ere is a dearth of harbors for small craft along the
Southern California Coast; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for purposes of recreation as wey as for
the safety and welfare of the users and owners of small boats; and
WHEREAS, there are several natural harbors along the coast of Northerr
San Diego County which should be developed, such as the Agua Hedionda Lagoor
and
WHEREAS, such harbors can best be developed by a harbor district with
an adequate tax base; and
WHEREAS, the proposed harbor district will provide an adequate tax
base to enable the district to develop the proposed harbors in the most
economical manner,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad endorses the boundaries of the harbor district as proposed
by the Harbor Association of Northern San Diego County.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Cound of the City
of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 15th day of December, 1959, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Counkilmen Ledgerwood, McPherson and La Roche
NOES: Councilwoman Sonneman
