HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-01-03; City Council; Resolution 7093, L 7 % 4 E e 7 e 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 25 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO, 709 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COTJNCXL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD GRANTLNG PER- MISSION FOR THE CROXiLWG OF THE ADOPTED FREEWAY ROUTE BY THE PALONAR AIRPORT ROAD. WHEREAS, a study has been made in accordance with Senate Concurrent Resolution 62 of the California Legislature; and WHEREAS, one of the primary roads in that study extends from a point westerly of new U.S. 101 Freeway, easterly to the recently constructed Palomar Airport, and beyond, to State Highway Route 196 at San Marcos; and WHEREAS, said road, commonly known as Palomar Airport Road, will form an important east-west link between State Highways in the northern part of San Diego County; and WHEREAS, the County is now constructing Palomar Airport Road from existing U.S. 101 to the Palomar Airport, the westerly portion of this road being in the City of Carlsbad; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Carlsbad hereby requests that the California Highway Commission give permission for Palomar Alrport Ruad to Cross the adopted Une of future U.S. 101 Freeway; and I BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the California Highway Commission provide a full interchange at this crossing at such time as the construction of U, S, 101 Freeway is undertaken. JUN261963 S 60 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NEW PUBLIC ROAD CONNK3TION TO FREEWAY Road XI-SD-2-Cbd WHEREAS, the California Highway Coaimisslon on July 24, 1957, adopted and declared Route 2 between 0.1 mile south of Sorrento and 0.9 mile south of Agua Hedlonda Creek to be a freeway; and WHEREAS, the City Council ©f Carlsbad by resolution dated January 3, 1961, requested a new public road connection to Route 2 at Palomar Airport Road; and WRERI&3, it has been determined that a connec- tion to the freeway at this point is necessary to provide adequate service to the area, all as outlined in a report dated June 10, 1963, by Mr. J. C. Woraaclc, State Highway Engineer; BJS B? RESOLVED by the California Highway Commission that it hereby consents to the new public road connection. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State will bear the entire cost of the connection.
