HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-02-06; City Council; Resolution 800I 1 4 ! 1( 11 1: 12 14 If 1E 13 1E 1s 2c 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 800 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 10th DAY OF APRIL, 1962, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PRO- VISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general law cities n the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held )n the 10th day of April, 1962, for the election of two members of the City :ouncil of said City for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of said City or the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer of said City for the full erm of four years; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBA :ALIFORNLA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND )RDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State f California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, nd there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Carlsbad, County of an Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, the 10th day of April, 1962, a egular general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the urpose of electing two members of the City Cauncil of said City for the full :rm of four years; a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; and City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four years. SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both 3 to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to 3 used thereat. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized, in- ructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, )tices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may ? necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places herein- after designated; and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and l 1 2 SECTION 4. That the compensation of the persons hereinabove named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of Fifteen Dollars for each Inspector, and Twelve Dollars for each Judge and Clerk, for said election. The rental for each of such polling places where a charge is made, shall be the sum of Ten Dollars for said election. When required, the compensation of the Custodiar of a building shall be Five Dollars for said election. SECTION 6. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven orclock A. M. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven orclock P. M. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California, SECTION 7. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections in said City. SECTION 8. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is. hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption Df this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said Cityj and shall make a m-inute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the mimutes of eeting at which the same is passed and adapted. SECTION IC).
