ment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad feels that said Act
concentrates power in the hands of the few appointive officials who are not re-
sponsible to the electorate; and
WHEREAS, the taxpayers of the City of Carlsbad and the taxpayers of
other comparable size cities could be subjected to taxation without benefit or
proper representation;
WOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad that the oppositions to the San Diego Uaifled Port District Act be known
and that it be a matter of record that they urge that the inequities as set forth
above in the San Diego Unified Port District Act be corrected at the 1963 session
of the Legislature to make the Act equitable for all cities and the unincorporated
areas of Sasl Diego County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
orders that copies of this resolution be sent to the Governor, Lie-utenat
Governor, ,, San Diego County State Senator and Assemblymen. Also to the
Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of San Diego County and to the Mayors
of each city of the County of Savl Diego.
