A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CARLSBAD APPROVING CITY
OF ESCONDIDO RESOLUTION NO, 192% AND DISAPPROVING THE PROVISIONS OF ASSEM- BLY BILL 1662.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Escondido did, by its Resolution
No. 1926, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference incorporatec
herein, disapprove the provisions of Bill 6. 5 of Part I, Division 2, Title 5
of the Government Code of the State of California, entitled "Local Agency
Annexation Commission", and urging the immediate repeal thereof by the
California Legislature;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad is in complete accord
with the statements and opinions made in City of Escondido Resolution No.
1926;
and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Carlsbad disapproves of the
provisions of Assembly Bill 1662 as being in derogation of traditional powers
of home rule held by cities,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad as follows:
1. That Resolution No. 1926 of the City Council of the City of
Escondido is hereby approved.
That the provisions of Assembly Bill 1662 are hereby disapproved. 2.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, this 17th day of September, 1963, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Guevara, Bierce, Hughes, Neiswender and McPherson
NOES: None
