That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward without delay to the
RESOLUTION NO. 948.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CARLSBAD REQUESTING THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE TO PREPARE A POPULATION
SURVEY AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DEPART- MENT OF FINANCE AND THE CITY OF CARLSBAD.
WHEREAS, it is provided in Section 194.2, Streets and Highway Code,
iat any city whose population has increased substantially since the last Federal
ensus may apply to the State of California, Department of Finance to estimate
ie increase in population; and
WHEREAS, said Section 194. 2 provides that the Department of Finance
lay make the estimate if in the opinion of the Department there is available
dequate information upon which to base the estimate; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad desires to have the Department of
Ynance estimate the increase in population of the City of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, all necessary expense in performing this service by the
Iepartment of Finance shall be paid by the City of Carlsbad;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad DOES
IEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
That pursuant to the provisions of Sections 194. 2, Streets and Highway
:ode of the State of California, this City Council hereby requests the State of
:alifornia, Department of Finance, to estimate the increase in population of
he City of Carlsbad since the last Federal census.
That said City shall provide such data as requested by the Department of
i'inance.
That said City shall reimburse said Department of Finance for services
,erformed when the work is completed.
That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized to execute
,n agreement with the Department of Finance, which states the formal terms

Department of Finance a certified copy of this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 15th day of October, 1963, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen McPherson, Bierce, Guevara, Neiswender and Hughes.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
