A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE: CITY OF CARLSBAD DETERMINING
THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES.
(Assessment District No. 1-1963)
WHER€US, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad did upon the 5th day
of May, 1963 adopt plans and specifications for the construction of certain
street improvements in Hemlock Avenue from the centerline of Garfield Street
easterly to westerly right-of-way line of A. T. & S. F. Railway Company; and
WHEREAS, this City Coumil has ascertained the general prevailing
rate of per diem wages in the locality in which said work is to be performed,
and this City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate for legal
holiday and overtime work in said locality for each craft or type of workman
needed to execute said contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
SECTION 1. That the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the
locality in which said work is to be performed for each craft or type of workmaz
needed to execute the contract for said work is determined to be as follows:

execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for Legal

The cabove listed rates are based upon a working day of eight (8) hours,
being proporticnately applicable to eight (8) hours or less of employ-
ment in any one (1) calendar day other than Saturdays, Sundays and the
follcwing seven (7) legal holidays, to wit: NEW Year's Day, Memrsrial.
Day, Fonr-kh of 3uly, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanb$king and Chrht-
mas Day, where any work is required in case of extraoxdinary emergency
caused by fixe, flood or damage to life or property. For any working
time of more than eight (8) hours in any one (1) calendar day and for
'ki.me worked on Saturdays, Sundays and any of the aforementioned holi-
days, not less than one and one-half (1%) times tne specified rates
shall be paid t provided, however, that notwithstanding the general pro-
visbn hereinabove set forth, the straight rates as specified for flag-
ment, guards or watchmen: shall be applicable to a maximum of eight (8)
hours of emp1oyment;lpcr calendar day including Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays for a total of not over farty hours per week, bLtt not less

SECTION 2. Said general prevailing rates shall be specified in the call
€or bids €or said contract and in the contract itself.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on the 5th day of May, 1964,
3y the City Council of the City of Carlsbad at a regular meeting of the Council
ield on said date, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Atkinson, Guevara, Neiswender, Jardine and Hughes.
