A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, DECLARING
ROAD AT U, S, HIGHWAY 101, NEED FQR FOUR-LANE WIDTH OF CANNON
WER€AS, the Master Plan 5or the City of Carlsbad and
Master Plan of major streets and highways have from the time
of their adoption shown Cannon Road as a four-lane major arterial
street; and
WEEREAS, improvement planning of the City of Carlsbad
streets and highways are based on construction o€ Cannon Road
as a four-lane major arterial street as past street deficiency
reports submitted have indicated; and
WEAS, the Master Plan now being completed for Carlsbad
zontemplates Cannon Road as a major North San Diego County
Four-lane arterial extending and connecting to Calif carnia Route
78(Vista Way) Freeway at Vista; and
WHJiBEXS, that section of U, S, 101, Interstate 5 Freeway
at and near Cannon Road is presently being designed and planned
For early construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Carlsbad
cequests that the Cannon Road undercrossing be constructed to
3sovi.de for four-lane of moving vehicular %raffic,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADQPTED by the City Council of the
Xty of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held August 18, 1964,
iy the following vote, to wik:
AYES : Councilmen Dunne, Neiswender, Jardine and Hughes.
NOES: None
