I WHEREAS, a joint study committee appointed by the City
Councils of Carlsbad and Oceanside has been investigating the
potential of the Buena Vista Lagoon and its immediate environs
consisting of approximately 200 acres and finds that portions I

WHERTAS, the Buena Vista Lagoon situated adjacent to the
coast between Carlsbad and Oceanside has for many years been knowin
as a bird sanctuary and portions of it are now held by The Nature
Ccnservancy as a natural area and it is readily accessible from

present a resolution to the Assembly for its adoption, requesting
the State Division of Beaches and Parks to make a survey of the
Buena Vista Lagoon with the view to acquiring it for a State Park.
