RESOLUTION NO. 1267
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, MAKING FINDINGS AND DENYING THE APPEAL FOR A VARIANCE ON PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE NORTHERLY SIDE OF STRATFORD LANE AT THE EASTERLY TERMINUS IN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD.
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of April, 1966, the Planning Commission
-l of the City of Carlsbad adopted Resolution No. 432 which denied a
variance applied for by NORENE E. BATCHELDER AND ARTHUR N. ENNIS;

WHEREAS, on the 29th day of April, 1966, Norene E. Batchelder i lliiand Arthur N. Ennis appealed to the City Council to review the actio

of the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of May, 1966, the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, at a duly advertised hearing, considered said
appeal, and made the following findings:

I 1. It would be undesirable to reduce the lot size in this area.
2. By reducing the lot size it would create substandard lots.
3. No adequate showing was made as required by Section 1802
of Ordinance #9060 to allow the granting of the variance.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad does
hereby find that the denying of the variance is necessary to carry
out the general purpose of Ordinance No. 9060, as amended, for the
fol1 owi ng reasons :
1. It would be undesirable to reduce the lot size in this area.

By reducing the lot size it would create substandard lots.
No adequate showing was made as required by Siction 1802
of Ordinance #go60 to allow the granting of the variance.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby RESOLVE
AND ORDER that a variance be, and the same is hereby denied on the
following described property in the City of Carlsbad, for reduction
in lot width from 60 feet to 57.50 feet on Parcels ''A" and I'B" and
to 57.52 feet on Parcel IIC"; and reduction in lot area from 7500 Sq.

larly described in application on file in the office of the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the City Clerk be order
ed to send a duly certified copy of this resolution to the applicar
at the address shown on the application for variance; that a copy
hereof be mailed to any other parties requesting notice of this acl
ion, and that a copy be attached to the Planning Commission file
and made a permanent part thereof.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 17th day of April, 1961
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Neiswender, Atkinson, Dunne and Jardine.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
