HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-06-03; City Council; Resolution 1737RESOLUTION NO. 1737 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY AND STATE TO CONDUCT POPULATION ESTIMATE WHEREAS, The City Council at a regular meeting held Jupe 2, 3/1 41'1970, considered the authorization of the City Manager to execute 1 51 an agreement with the State of Cal ifornia, Department of Finance, 61 for the purpose of conducting a "population estimate." 1 7 ~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council of the I 8i~City of Carlsbad that the City Council does hereby approve said 9' authorization for the following reasons: i 10 I j 11 j 1 32 13 I 14 j I i 15, 16 1 17 ' 18 19 I 1 i 1. That the current population estimate of the City of Carlsbad exceeds the last estimate by the State of California by at least 300 people; That the gas tax funds gained by the City would exceed the cost of the "population estimate;" 2. 3. That there is a need to update census information that is necessary for certain City projects now in progress. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Council 2o'of the City of Carlsbad, California, held June 3, 1970, by the 21 following vote, to wit: 22 AYES: Councilmen Dunne, McComas, Castro and Lewis.
