HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-10-19; City Council; Resolution 1914RESOLUTION NO. 1914 21 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 LO 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD ING CHANGE OF ZONE FROM R-1-7500 TO C-2 (General Commer- cial), ADOPTION OF A SPECIFIC PLAN, AND A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT. DENYING APPEAL OF DECISION OF PLANNING COMMISSION REGARD- The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby resolve as follows: 1. Appellant HALL, GRISWOLD, NILSEN appealed to the City Council the action of the Planning Commission regarding his lherein mentioned application - Planning Commission Resolutions No. 720 and 721. 2. All steps required by law in connection with said appli- cation and appeal have been complied with. 3. Said appeal and application are denied and the action of /the Planning Commission in Resolutions No. 720 and 721 is hereby approved. 4. In the opinion of the City Council the following facts and reasons make the denial of said application necessary to carry out the general purpose of Ordinance No. 9060 as amended: (a) The proposed development is not in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the community at this time. (b) A commercial development in the subject area would /detract ~i from the residential setting which now surrounds the area. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held October 19, 1971, by the following vote, to wit: AYES : Cmn.
