HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-11-16; City Council; Resolution 1921RESOLUTION NO. 1921 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD OPPOSING ANY PROPOSAL WHICH WOULD DESTROY AN INDEPENDENT CPO STAFF OR IMPAIR ITS ABILITY TO INDEPEN DENTLY ADVISE THE CPO POLICY COMMITTEE. WHEREAS, i,t is essential that the CPO Policy Committee have an independent third party evaluation of the regional impact of any proposed project properly before the CPO; and WHEREAS, an independent CPO staff has served as an arbiter and independent advisor of regional implications, adding to the input of the natural and proper advocacy of the immediately affect ed member agency; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Carlsbad opposes any proposal which would destroy an in- dependent CPO staff or impair its ability to independently advise the Policy Committee of the regional implications of the issues considered; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution shall be sent to the following parties: San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Mr. Fred Morey, C.A.O., CPO Policy Committee Members, Mayors of all San Diego Cities; PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of November, 1971, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Dunne, McComas, Jardine and lewis. NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman DAVID M. DUNNE, Mayor of the City of Carlsbad, CalifQrnia
