RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
REQUESTING THAT THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION ALLOCATE
FUNDS EQUAL TO FEDERAL TOPICS FUNDS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO
CITIES AND COUNTIES FOR CONSTRUCTION ON THEIR SELECT
SYSTEMS .
WHEREAS, The Federal Highway Act of 1968 established a pro-
gram to expend Federal Funds for an Urban Traffic Operations Program
to be known as Topics;
WHEREAS, the State Department of Public Works has been
appointed to administer the Federal Topics Program:
WHEREAS, the State Legislature has authorized the State
Highway Commission to budget State Funds equivalent to Topics money
and allocate it to Cities and Counties for construction on their
Select Systems.
THEREFORE, it is hereby requested that the State Highway
Commission allocate funds equal to Federal Topics Fund and instruct
the State Department of Public Works to distribute the funds to
Cities and Counties for use on their Select System as authorized in
AB 1870.
