The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad did on July 18, 1972 adopt a salary plan for the City of Carlsbad for 1972-73, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution No. 2050 dated July 18, 1972, is amended by the addition of the job classifica- tion, Property Maintenance Foreman, Salary Range 31, as set forth on Exhibit "A" attached and incorporated herein. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held February 6, 197 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Dunne, McComas, Lewis, Chase and Frazee. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. DAVID M. Definition This is a position involving assignment and supervision of varying property maintenance work performed by skilled and semi-skilled employees. An employee in this class must have working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and procedures involved in several building and construction trade crafts; e.g. carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilating, welding, and cement work. He must be capable of performing work at journeyrnan level in one or more of the above crafts when not engaged in supervisory work. Examples 1. Conducts a preventive maintenance program for City- of Duties owned buildings and related facilities, 2. Supervises and participates in the conduct of a routine janitorial service program for City-owned buildings. 3. Makes minor alterations to buildings; such as, removal and installation of cabinets, partitions, windows, doors, electrical fixtures, and plumbing. 4. Maintains heating, ventilating, electrical, and plumbing systems e 5. Maintains City owned street lighting systems. 6. Plans, organizes, supervises and maintains records of work by employees, 7. Makes periodic inspections and reports on City-owned buildings and facilities, and recommends nature of service or repair needed. 8. Performs related work as required. Four years experience in maintenance or construction of buildings and related facilities, including at least two years at journeyman supervisory level, and graduation from high school; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. 1/30/73
