RESOLUTION NO, 3~065
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CHANGE THE NAME OF PALOMAR AIRPORT TO, CARL,S,BAD, .A-I,RPORT-
WHEREAS, the name Palomar Airport does not correctly
establish the location of that County Airport facility; and
WHEREAS, Palomar Mountain, from which the name Palomar
Airport was apparently derived, is a substantial distance from sai
airport; and
WHEREAS, the name Carlsbad Airport or Carlsbad County
Airport appropriately designates the geographic location of said
County Ai rport f aci 1 i ty ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad does respectfully request the San Diego
County Board of Supervisors to change the name of Palomar Airport
to Carlsbad Airport or Carlsbad County Airport, The City Clerk
will forward copies of this Resolution to the Clerk of the Board
and to each i ndi vi dual Supervi sor.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a reqular meeting of the
City Council held on the 6th day of February, 1973 by the follow-
ing vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Dunne, McComas, Lewis, Chase and
NOES: None. Frazee.
ABSENT: None.
