RESOLUTION NO. 3149
I
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE FOR
PARTICIPATION IN A. STRIKE FORCE-ROBBERY PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the City of Carlsbad
join with some of the other cities in the County of San Diego
in an organization which will engage in a regional cooperative
effort to examine robbery suppression needs and provide
regional law enforcement agencies with new proven methods
of robbery prevention and enforcement; and
WHEREAS, said organization to be known as the "Strike
Force-Robbery" will be effectuated by means of a joint powers
agency and funded by a combination of state grants and contri-
butions by some of the member agencies and does not require
any financial contributions on the part of the City of Carlsbad;
and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest for the City of
Carlsbad to join in this regional effort;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad be and is
hereby authorized to execute on behalf of said city a Joint
Exercise of Powers Agreement with THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, CITY OF CORONADO, CITY OF EL CAJON, CITY OF
ESCONDIDO, CITY OF IMPERIAL BEACH, CITY OF LA MESA, CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY, CITY OF OCEANSIDE, CITY OF SAN DIEGO and COUNTY
OF SAN DIEGO, to create a Strike Force-Robbery to provide for
mu1 ti-jurisdictional police powers for project personnel,
under the terms and conditions set forth in the form of Joint
~ Exercise of Powers Agreement on file in the Office of the

3. Said authorization is given with the understanding
that the City of Carlsbad
expend any city funds pursuant to said agreement.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at an adjourned meeting of
the City Council on the '12th day of June, 1973, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES : Councilmen McComas, Lewis, Chase and Frazee.
NOES : None.
