A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE USE BY THE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING
ORGANIZATION OF $2,683 FROM CARLSBAD'S
UNALLOCATED LOCAL TRANSPORTATION FUNDS
TO SUPPORT THE TRANSIT IMPLEMENTATION
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Planning Organization is
pursuing a transit implementation program for the San Diego Region;
and
WHEREAS, said program includes a detailed planning and
programming study on the first phase of a proposed transit system;
and
WHEREAS, anticipated Federal Highway Act funds for said
program have not materialized; and
WHEREAS, on March 18, 1974, the Comprehensive Planning
Organization Board of Directors authorized the Executive Committee
to take whatever action the Executive Committee deems appropriate
to secure the necessary funding; and
WHEREAS, on March 29, 1974, the Executive Committee
adopted Resolution No. 74-40 directing the Executive Director to
request member agencies to contribute a proportionate share of
the money necessary to partially fund the transit implementation
program from each agency's local transportation fund account: and
WHEREAS, on April 15, 1974, a letter was received by the
City from Comprehensive Protective Organization requesting a reso-
lution approving the use of $2,683 of Carlsbad's unallocated local
transportation fund monies to support the transit implementation
program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct,
2. That the use of $2,683 from Carlsbad's unallocated
local transportation fund account by the Comprehensive Planning
Organization for the transit implementation program is hereby
approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 7th day of
M aY , 1974, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Frazee, McComas and Lewis
NOES: Councilman Chase
ABSENT: None
