=SOLUTION NO. 3483
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE SALARY PLAN FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED
BY THE CARLSBAD POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIA- TION AND THE CARLSRAD CITY EMPLOYEES ASSO-
CIATION FOR THE 1974-75 FISCAL YEAR.

WHEREAS, the City Council did on August 6, 1974, by
and Resolution No. 3481 approve -- Resolution No. 3480
memoranda of understanding between Management and representatives
of the Carlsbad Police Officers Association and the Carlsbad
City Employees Association which called for certain salary
adjustments: and
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate in accord with said reso-
lutions and with Resolution 3444 for the City Council to implement
said adjustments by amending the interim salary plan adopted by
Resolution 3444 as amended by Resolution 3452;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the "Classification and Salary Range Schedul
for Miscellaneous and Police Safety Personnel, Fiscal Year 1974-75"
and the Bi-Weekly Salary Schedule set out in Exhibit A attached
hereto and made a part hereof are hereby adopted as the Salary
Plan of the City of Carlsbad for all employees covered by said
schedules for fiscal year 1974-75.
3. That the schedules adopted by this resolution shall
be retroactive to July 1, 1974 and shall supersede any portions
of the interim salary plan inconsistent therewith.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 6th day of Auqust , 1974,

CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
ADJUSTMENTS TO SALARY AND OTHER TERMS
AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE CARLSBAD FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1974-1975
1. PERSONNEL INCLUDED
These recommendations apply to the following employees
in the City of Carlsbad Fire Department:
A. Fire Battalion Chief
B. Fire Captain
C. Fire Engineer
D. Fireman
2. SALARY ADJUSTMENT
The City shall provide a 7.5% salary increase for
all ranges and steps for all included personnel effective
as of July 1, 1974.
3. HOLIDAYS
Management has signed Memorandums of Understanding
with the other employee groups agreeing to change its recog-
nized employee holidays to delete Admission Day and substi-
tute therefor the individual employee's birthday. In that
Firefighters are compensated for 11 paid holidays per year
and do not observe holidays, they shall continue to be com-
pensated for holidays at the existing rate.
4. RETIREMENT
City shall amend the contract with the Public
Employees Retirement System for all included personnel who
qualify as local safety members of the System to provide at
City's cost for the extension of retirement benefits in
certain circumstances to the members'survivors as provided
in Section 21263 of the California Government Code.
5. CONTINUANCE OF TERMS
All other terms and conditions of employment applicable
to included personnel and not inconsistent with the terms
of these recommendations shall remain in effect except for
such modifications as may be necessary to comply with the
