RESOLUTION NO. 3492
A RE OLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
REPRESENTATIVES OF MANAGEMENT AND THE
CARLSBAD FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION.
WHEREAS, representatives of Management and the Carlsbad
Firefighters Association have been conducting negotiations pursuant
to the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act regarding wages and other terms
and conditions of employment for the 1974-75 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, said representatives failed to reach agreement
and an impasse was declared; and
WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting of August 7, 1974 the
Zity Council heard from representatives of the Firefighters Asso-
aiation and received recommendations from the City Manager in
regard to wages and other terms and conditions of employment and
approved the City Manager's recommendation by the adoption of
Resolution No. 3482 . In so doing, the Council announced its
villingness to allow two weeks of further negotiations and to
consider further recommendations from the City Manager on the
natter if there was some progress to report; and
WHEREAS, said representatives have reached agreement which
they desire to submit to the City Council for approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it to be in the
public interest to accept such an agreement in the form of a
Yemorandum of Understanding marked Exhibit A and incorporated by
reference herein:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
Zity of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Memorandum of Understanding between the
C'arlsbad Firefighters Association and representatives of Management
is hereby accepted.

3. That the City Council intends to implement said Memo-
y &ncorporating its terms into the salary plan for fiscal
year 1974-75 and the personnel rules of the City of Carlsbad and
by other appropriate actions as necessary in accord with its terms
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the ___I- 20th day of August , 1974 by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Cmn. Frazee, McComas, Lewis, Chase and Skotnicki.
NOES : None.
ABSENT: None.
