RESOLUTION NO. 3501
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, COMMUNI-
CATING TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
SAN DIEGO COUNTY THE CITY COUNCIL'S
DISSATISFACTION IN REGARD TO THE PROCESS-
ING OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION WHICH WAS CONSOLIDATED
WITH THE STATEWIDE PRIMARY HELD ON JUNE
1974. 4,
WHEREAS, on June 4, 1974, the City of Carlsbad LAe a
zonsolidated election with the County of San Diego to fill a
Zouncil vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad feels
-here was unnecessary delay and confusion in obtaining the final
?lection results, necessitating the expense of a manual count; and
WHEREAS, this delay resulted in additional expense to the
:andidates and brought unnecessary problems to the handling of
louncil duties as well as to the citizens of the City of Carlsbad;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad wishes to express its dissatisfaction with
the handling of the election count by the office of the County
Xegistrar of Voters and feels the Board of Supervisors of San
liego County should consider a request to pay the cost of the
recount.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Zarlsbad City Council held on the 20th day of Auqust , 1974,
~y the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Cmn. Frazee, McComas, Lewis, Chase and Frazee.
NOES : None.
ABSENT: None. n
