HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-01-21; City Council; Resolution 3569RESOLUTION NO. 3569 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, REVISING THE REFUSE COLLECTION RATES FOR THE CITY OF CARLSBAD. No. of Bins 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has contracted with McDougal Sanitation, Inc. for exclusive refuse collection services within the City; and WHEREAS, the City adopted Resolution No. 3286 setting refuse collection requirements and establishing rates for said services : and WHEREAS, said contract as amended provides that the City will meet and renegotiate rates as requested by the collector; and WHEREAS, after said negotiations the parties to said contract have agreed that certain changes in the refuse collec- tion requirements and rates are necessary; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the rate for a once-a-week collection of resi- dential refuse shall be a monthly charge of $3.25. 3. The special district rates for once-a-week,on-premise collection of residential refuse is a monthly charge of $4.50. 4. That the following rates shall apply to special pickuF of refuse: (a) One dump truck with driver: $26.95/hour, assessed portal-to-portallplus $6.74/hour for one extra man, plus dump charges of $5.70 per dump. Maximum charge shall be for one hour plus a dump charge of $5.70. Drag-on box service shall be charged at the rate of $60.64 per box, with a dump charge of $5.70 per dump. Demurrage charges on drag-on boxes shall be $2.01 per day in the event the drag-on box is not dumped a minimum of one time a week. (b) (c) Special pickups of items such as water heaters, washers, dryers, etc. shall be individuallynegotiated at a reasonable rate between collector and customer. Before any pickup of such items is made, customer shall be notified of charges. 6. That all rates established hereby shall be effective on February 1, 1975. 7. The rates established by this resolution shall on their effective day supersede the rates established by resolution No. 3286. The balance of said resolution shall remain in effect.
