RESOLUTION NO. 3608
A RES LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING
THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD.
WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement Law permits
:he participation of public agencies and their employees in the
'ublic Employees' Retirement System by the execution of a contract,
tnd sets forth the procedure by which said public agencies may
!lect to subject themselves and their employees to amendments to
;aid law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did on September 18, 1973,
.ndicate its intent to amend the then existing contract with the
'ublic Employees' Retirement System to include the below change:

WHEREAS, it remains the intent of the City Council to
mend the existing contract with the Public Employees' Retirement
lystem to include the below change; and
WHEREAS, one of the steps required in the procedure to
mend this contract is the adoption by the legislative body of
:he public agency of a resolution giving notice of its intention
.o approve an amendment to said contract, which resolution shall
:ontain a summary of the changes proposed in said contract: and
WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the proposed
:hange :
"Provides that under the authority of Section
20020 of the Government Code those police communicators who were so employed on August 4, 1972 shall hereafter be considered designated and classified as local safety members of the Public Employees' Retirement System." ,

of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That it does hereby give notice of intention to
approve an amendment to contract between said City of Carlsbad
land the Board of Administration of the Public Employees’ Retire-
ment System. A copy of said amendment is attached as Exhibit A

and incorporated herein by reference. adjourned
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at an/regular meeting of
the Carlsbad City Council held on the 10th day of March
1975, by the following vote, to wit:
