HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-12-02; City Council; Resolution 3800?’ WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General Law Cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on the 2nd day of March, 1976, for the election of three (3) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years. NOW, THEREFOREy THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERP4INE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS : SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of Cali- fornia, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of March, 1976, a regular general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years. SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby xx 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 - RESOLUTION NO. 3800 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 2nd DAY OF MARCH, 1976, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES. xx 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 i authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplie: equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION 4. That the polls for said election shall be oper at seven o'clock A.M. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as pro- vided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 5. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections in said City. SECTION 6. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby author ized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election, in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 7. That in the event a school district election is scheduled to be held on the same day in the same territory or in territory that is in part the same as the election called by this resolution, the City Council hereby consents to the con- solidation of such election with the election called by this resolution. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall Kiake a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 9. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
