HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-03-09; City Council; Resolution 3865RESOLUTION NO. 3865 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF TFE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF CARLSBAD OW THE 2ND DAY OF MARCH, 1976, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER !lAYTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LA!. 6 '7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 1'7 18 19 20 21 g2 23 24 25 26 27 Z8 29 30 31 32 WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election was held and conducted in the city of Carlsbad, County of San Dieqo, State of California, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of %larch, 1976 as required by law; and WHC?EAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly aive in time, form and manner as provided by law; that votina 7t-ecincts were properly established; that election officers were anpointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for th holding of elections in cities; and WHK?EAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 3849 adopted the 17th da of February, 1976, the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad canvasse the returns of said election drsd has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A." NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CP,RLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOGIS: SECTION 1. That there were 31 voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolida- tions of the regular election precincts in the City of Carlsbad as established for the holding of state and county elections. SECTION 2. That said resular qeneral municipal elections was held for the purpose of electinq the following officers of said City 8s required by the laws relatinq to cities in the State of California, to wit: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 31 3.2 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 Three (3) Members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years; - SECTION 3. That at said regular general municipal election, the following measures were submitted to the electors of said I ' City, to wit: For the establishment of trustee areas in the Ocean- side-Carl sbad Community College District. For increasing the number of members of the governing board of the Oceanside-Carlsbad Community College District from five to seven. - SECTION 4.. That the whole number of votes cast in said City (except absent voter ballots) was 4,323. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 99, making a total of 4,422 votes cast in said City. SECTION 5. That the naines of persons voted for at said election for Flember of the City Council of said City are as follows: LE'dJIS L. CHASE MARY H. CASLER MARK A. NELSON RONALD C. PACKARD JOEL H. PRESCOTT ANTHONY J. SKQTNICKI That the measures voted upon at said election are as foll ows : For the establishment of trustee areas in the Ocean- side-Carlsbad Cofimunity College District. For increasing the number of members of the governing board of the Oceanside-Carlsbad Community College District from five to seven.
