HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-03-01; City Council; Resolution 5003e 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 IC 11 12 1: 14 1: 1t 1’; 1Z l! 2( 21 2: 2; 2r 2! 2( 2’ 21 2! 3 3 3 RESOLUTION NO. 5003 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PREVAILING WAGE RATES FOR PUBLIC WORKS AS DETERMINED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS. , CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE GENERAL WHEREAS, Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of alifornia requires that the general prevailing rate of per diem ages and the general prevailing rates for legal holiday and over- ime work in the locality in which a contract for public work is o be performed for each craft, classification or type of workman eeded to execute the contract shall be determined by the Director f the Department of Industrial Relations; and WHEREAS, Section 1773.2 provides that in lieu of specifying he prevailing wage rates in such call for bids, the awarding body ay refer to copies thereof at its principal office; and WHEREAS, the provisions of Section 1773.2 of the Labor ode of the State of California provide that where the awarding ody chooses to refer to a copy of the prevailing wage rate on ile at its principal office in lieu of specifying them in each !all for bids, the awarding body shall publish its determination f the prevailing wage rates in a newspaper of general circulation t least one time during each year and, if there is any change in he prevailing wage rates during the course of the year, the warding body shall specify the changes in the first call for bids lade by the awarding body thereafter; and WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Industrial :elations has compiled a schedule of the prevailing wage rate in .his area for each craft, classification or type of workman needed .o execute contracts for public works; and WHEREAS, a copy of the said schedule, marked Exhibit “A”, is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in lieu of specifying :he said prevailing wage rates in each call for bids, the City of -.c 1 2 3 4 E u e 7 t s 1( 1: 1: 1: 11 1, 11 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 Zarlsbad shall refer to a copy of the said prevailing wage rates on ile with the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, if there is any change in the aid prevailing wage rates during the course of the year, the City f Carlsbad shall specify such changes in its first call for bids nd any bid call published thereafter; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to ause the publication of this resolution in the Carlsbad Journal, newspaper of general circulation, published in the said City of arlsbad.
