RESOLUTION NO. 5102
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 3972, ESTABLISHING A
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY RANGE SCHEDULE
FOR POLICE AND FIRE EMPLOYEES, BY CHANGING THE EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR THE CLASSIFICATION COMMUNICATION OPERATOR.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council
concurs that the City of Carlsbad's Classification and Salary
Range Schedule for Police and Fire Employees be amended by
the deletion of the present classification description for
COMMUNICATION OPERATOR, to be replaced by a new description
with more appropriate employment standards for a COMMUNICATION
OPERATOR;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above facts are true and correct.
2. That the City Council authorizes and directs the
amendment of the City of Carlsbad's Classification and Salary
Range Schedule for Police and Fire Employees by the deletion of
the present classification description for COMMUNICATION OPERATOR,
to be replaced by a new and more appropriate one, as shown on
Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part thereof, and as
described in the attached job description.

COMMUNICATION OPERATOR
This is a skilled level class involving the receipt
and transmission of radio, telephone, and teletype messages, and dispatching of men and equipment for fire and police emergency services on an assigned
shift, the preparation of police reports and records, and doing related work as required.
