RESOLUTION NO. 5373
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING THAT THE
PUBLIC INTEREST, CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE TO
ROLLAND D. AND EVELYN D. STOKES DBA ARRO CAB
TO OPERATE ONE TAXICAB IN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
AND ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO ISSUE SAID CERTIFICATE SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, Rolland De and Evelyn D. Stokes dba Arro Cab in
xcord with Chapter 5.20 of the Municipal Code has applied for
3 Certificate of Convenience and Necessity to operate taxicab
service within the City of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said chapter a public hearing was
held before the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on April 4,
1978, to determine whether or not the public interest, convenience
and necessity require the issuance of the certificate applied
for; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing all persons having interests in
the matter were heard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. Tha.t the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the public interest, convenience and necessity
require the issuance of the certificate applied for.
3. Thzt said certificate is hereby issued to Rolland D. and
Evelyn D. Stokes dba Arro Cab for a period of three years, subject
to the following terms and conditions:
(a) The certificate permits service throughout the City of Carlsbad.
(b) One taxicab is authorized.

(c) The schedule of fares to be charged shall be:
Initial drop $ .80 first 1/7 mile; $ .lo each additional 1/7
mile; $4.80 per hour waiting time.
(d) The certificate and the operation of taxi service pursuant: thereto shall be subject to all of the provisions of Chapter 5.50 of the Municipal Code.
(e) The certificate is issued to commence on the date
of adoption of this resolution and to expire on April 19,
1981.
(f) Applicant's application form dated November 10,
1977 on file in the office of the City Clerk shall be part of this certificate and is incorporated by reference herein.
(9) The City shall have the right to inspect all
vehicle:; at any time to insure they are maintained in
safe operating condition.
(h) Applicant may only use the vehicle listed on

to commencing service pursuant to this certificate.

That the City Clerk is hereby directed to issue a copy

5. That the certificate shall not be issued until the
applicant has complied with all of the hereinabove terms and
conditions.
