RESOLUTION NO. 5487
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE OFFICE OF PLANNING AND RESEARCH TO PROVIDE PLANNING ASSISTANCE FOR PREPARA- TION OF A LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM LAND USE PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad, recognizing the problems and
issues identified in the attached application for Coastal Zone
Yanagement Grant, desires to provide for a planning study contrib-
uting to improved coastal planning, decision making, and management
zapability related to community development and growth; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has developed an application
?ackage to deal with these development problems and issues; and the
Jali€ornia State Office of Planning and Research, under authority
,f the Government Code of the State of California (Section 34200),
nay provide planning assistance from the California Coastal
'omission, as authorized by interagency agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
:he City of Carlsbad hereby requests the Office of Planning and
iesearch to provide planning assistance under authority of the
;overnment Code of the State of California, with such financial
issistance as may be provided by the California Coastal Commission,
lot t.o exceed the amount of $Sl,OOO. Such planning assistance is
nore particularly described in a project description that is
ittached hereto and made a part of this resolution as if fully set

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the
Zity of Carlsbad be, and he is hereby authorized and empowered

to execute in the name of the City of Carlsbad all necessary
applications, contracts, and agreements and amendments hereto to
implement and carry out the purposes specified in this resolution
The foregoing Resolution was passed by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad this 18th day of July I 1973.
Effective July 18 , 1978.
