HESOLUTION NO. 5506
A RESOLUTICN OF THE CITY cy>uNcu; OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING I'DDIFICATIONS To STATE LAW WHICH
WILL PFOVIDE THAT LQCAL JURISDICTIONS MM EXCHANGE THE
FEDERAL SHARF: OF EACEl FEDERAL AID URElAN SYSTEM PROJECT FOR
AN EQUAL AM3T.INT OF NON-FEDERAL F"Ds IN THE STATE HIG€DIAY FUND.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad in the interest of econony in governmnt,
does not now have sufficient staff to process Federal Aid Urban projects; and
WHEHEAS, significant emnodes may be realized if these projects are
processed in accordance with regulations governing the use of State gas tax
funds; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Transportation now partially
funds Federal Aid projects out of gas tax funds; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Deparhmnt of Transportation now follows
Federal Aid Urban rules and procedures for all their projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
that it is in favor of =ding State law to provide that local jurisdiction
my exchange the Federal share of each Federal Aid Urban System project for an
qual ana" of non-federal funds in the State Highway Fund as long as the
State funds are used for the Federal Aid Urban project applied for.
PASSED, APPIIOVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 15thday of August 1978 by the following vote, to
wit:
