A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES NECESSARY TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF CASSBAD AND FIXING THE AMOUNT OF REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES NECESSARY TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE "1962 SEWER BONDS, SERIES A, B, AND C" AND "1966 LIBRARY BONDS" FOR 1978-79 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Carlsbad recognizes that
there are lawsuits concerning Proposition 13; and whereas, there has
been no directive concerning how to handle taxes in the event of
failure of Propostion 13 in the Courts; and whereas, if Proposition 13
is ruled invalid it will be necessary for the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad to set a tax rate for the 1978-79 fiscal year;
now therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, as follows:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, pursuant
to Section 51508 of the Government Code of the State of California,
does hereby fix the amount of revenue from property taxes necessary
to support its departments for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1976,
and ending June 30, 1979, to be in the amount of $~,'l00,~50.
SECTION 2:
Section 51508 of the Government Code of the State of California, does
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, pursuant to
hereby fix the amount of revenue from property taxes necessary to pay
the bonded indebtedness of the "City of Carlsbad 1962 Sewer Bonds,
Series A,B, and C" for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1978, and
ending June 30, 1979, to be in the amount of $146,550.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, pursuant
to Section 51508 of the Government Code of the State of California,

does hereby fix the amount of revenue from property taxes necessary
to pay the bonded indebtedness of the "City of Carlsbad 1966 Library
Bonds" for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1976, and ending June 30,1929,
to be in the amount of $24,425.
That the total amount of revenue from property taxes SECTION 4:
necessary for all purposes pursuant to Section 51508 of Sections 1, 2,
and 3 hereinabove is $2,271,525.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
resolution and cause the same to be published, as required by Section
36936.1 of the Government Code, once within fifteen (15) days of its
passage in the Carlsbad Journal , a newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the City of Carlsbad. an adjourned PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at'/regular meeting of the City
Council on the22nd day of August , 1978, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Packard, Lewis, Anear and Councilwoman Casler
NOES: Councilman Skotnicki
