RESOLUTION NO. 5648
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TRANS-
FER OF FUNDS FROM THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY
TO THE SERRA COOPERATIVE LIBRARY SYSTEM.
WHERFAS, City Council Resolution No. 5531 authorized the Carlsbad City
Library to participate in the California Library Services Act; and
WHEREAS, under said Act the Library is entitled to reimbursements from the
California State Library for Inter-Library Loan transactions; and
WHEREAS, the Council recognizes
1. The financial hardship of the Serra Research Center;
2. The decision of the majority of libraries participating in the Serra
Cooperative Library System to have their Inter-Library Loan reimburse-
ments revert to the Serra System; and
3. The recommendation of the Library Board of Trustees that the reimburse-
ment intended for Carlsbad be directed to the Serra System;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the city of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is directed to authorize the
California State Library to send directly to the San Diego County
Library, as fiscal agent for the Serra System, all Inter-Library Loan
reimbursements to which the Carlsbad City Library is entitled under the
California Library Services Act, provided that an accounting of each
such transfer of funds be made to the City of Carlsbad.
