RESOLUTION NO. 5767
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
CALIFORNIA, REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR CONTRACT NO. 1061 FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE COASTAL BICYCLE ROUTE
WHEREAS, a bid has been received by the City of Carlsbad for construction
of the Coastal Bicycle Route, Contract No. 1061; and
WHEREAS, the bid received for this construction, in the amount of
$496,569.50, substantially exceeds the funds available for the project in the
1978-79 budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the public interest requires
the Council to exercise its discretion under Section 3.28.120 of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code and reject this bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the bid for Contract No. 1061 for construction of the Coastal
Bicycle Route is hereby rejected.
PASSED, APPROVED AND DPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad held the 15th day of May , 1979, by the follow-
ing vote, to wit:
AYES : Councilmen Packard, Skotnicki, Anear, Lewis and
NOES : None Councilwoman Cas1 er
