RESOLUTION NO. 5939
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH RALPH ANDERSEN
AND ASSOCIATES FOR THE PURPOSE OF SERVING
AS CONSULTANTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council has concurred in the recommendation
to have the services of a consultant for recruiting of a City
Manager ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California as follows:
1. That the above statement is true and correct.
2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the agreement
dated September 12, 1979 from Ralph Andersen and Associates, for
services incorporated herein by reference and on file in office of
City Clerk.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 18th day of September , 1979, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Skotnicki, Anear, Lewis and
NOES : None Councilwoman Casler

Ralph Anderscii 2nd Associates agrees to provide the following services to the
City of Carlsbad in conjunction with their recrujifireni; for the position of
City Manager :

Prepare and place advertisements for+ the posstion of City
Manager in appropriate pub1 i cat: ons e ..
Prepare a 1 i st of outstandf ng potential appl -icants for
the position of City Manager.
Prepare a letter of invitation to be mailed by the City
to each potenti a1 appl icant
the letter by discussing 'the overall job opportunity
with each person invited to apply,
and personal ly fool low up
Review all applications received by the City. .
Conduct appropriate backgrowd checks,, other than police
and credit checks.

Brief the City Council regarding the nature of all
appl ications received, and overall screening results.
Prepare a final 1 ist of appl icants recommended for
personal interview by the City Council.

For t.he services to be rendered pursuant to thfs agreement, the City 0.F
Carlsbad agrees to compensate ?a1 ph Andersen and Assoc.iates the fixed amount
of $5,000.
Carlsbad assumes resphnsibility, in addition to the fixed fee, are refmbursc-
nient fcr out-of-pocket expenses <ncwred by Ralph Andersen and Associates for
items such as travel and pl acement
