HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-11-28; City Council; Resolution 5995RESOLUTION NO. cjga 5995 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING CARLSBAD'S "FAIR SHARE" HOUSING ALLOCATION OF 825 LOWER INCOME UNITS AND RECOGNIZING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ORGANIZATIONS'S REGIONAL HOUSING ALLOCATION FORMULA FOR THE PERIOD 1980 TO 1985 WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Planning Organization has identified lower income needs for the San Diego Region based upon the 1975 census and other more current information; and WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Planning Organization has developed a housing allocation formula which recommends a "fair share" of lower income housing needs for each juris- diction to identify its "fair share" responsibility as part of its Housing Element; and WHEREAS, the State Housing Element Guidelines require each jurisdiction to identify its housing needs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. That the City of Carlsbad recognizes the San Diego Region (1980-1985) Lower Income Housing Needs and Housing Alloca- tion Formula, as established by the Comprehensive Planning Organization. 2. That the City of Carlsbad hereby adopts its "fair share" allocation of 2.5 percent of 825 units as part of the total lower income housing need (1980-1985) of 37,681 units. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED atdregular meeting of the adjourned Carlsbad City Council held on themth day of November, 1979, by the following vote, to wit: 28th AYES: Mayor Packard, Councilmen Skotnicki, Lewis and Anear; NOES: None Councilwoman Casler ABSENT: None ATTEST: ( SEAL ) RONALD C.
