WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council concurs, that the classification of RECEPTIONIST CASHIER should be included in the city's Miscellaneous Classification and Salary Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. 2. That the above recitations are true and correct. That the City Council authorizes and directs the City Yanager to add the classification of RECEPTIONIST CASHIER as lescribed in Attachment A, attached hereto and made a part thereof. 3. That the City Council authorizes and directs the City Ianager to add the title of RECEPTIONIST CASHIER to the appropriatl :ity salary plan as shown on Attachment B, attached hereto md made a part thereof. 4. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Collect payments over the counter and through the mail. Balance cash drawer and prepare deposits. Check and index invoices and prepare for payment. Operate adding machine and other office appliances. Receive telephone calls from the public and provide necessary information or transfer calls. i Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing nail. Receive visitors to the City Hall and direct them to the proper city offices. Perform a variety of routine and simple clerical posting, organi- zation, and filing duties involving accounting records. Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy and completeness. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledae of: English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation, Office methods and equipment. Basic methods, terminology, and practices of financial record- keeping. Ability to: Post financial data and make accurate arithmetical calculations. understand and carry out oral and written instructions, Perform routine clerical work. Work cooperatively with others. Type at a speed of not less than 40 words a minute from clear COPY Experience and Education: Any combination equivalent to the experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
