That an agreement between the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Boys and Girls Club for services relative to removal of litter from City rights-of-way, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof, is hereby approved. 2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Carlsbad. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held on the 6th day of October , 1981, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Packard, Casler, -ear, Lewis and Kulchin NOES : None ABSENT: None RONALD C J'PACKARD, Mayor- MARY H. CASLEX, Vice Mayor ATTEST : (SEAL) EXHIBIT "A" % t 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 € S 1C 13 1: 1: fd l! 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 i i 2 : 1 c AGREEMENT FOR PROVIDING LITTER REMOVAL SERVICES This agreement entered into this day of 1987 iy and between the City of Carlsbad, a municipal corporation of the State of :a1 ifornia, hereinafter referred to as "Carl sbad" and the Carl sbad Boys and 3rls Club, hereinafter referred to as "Club". WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, Carl sbad is engaged in various street maintenance programs including street sweepi ng to promote the safety, health and general we1 fare of its citizens and; WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate to accomplish litter removal from the City rights-of-way by agreement with the Club and; WHEREAS, the Club can provide litter removal service for just compensa- tion and in the public interest; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED as follows: SECTION 1 DUTIES OF CARLSBAD A, Provide appropriate warning si gni ng equi pment and di sposal of coll ected 1 i tter, B, Provide appropriate i nspecti on of the cl eared areas. C, Reimburse the Club on a monthly basis in the amount of $40Q.00 on the condition ~f faithful performance of 1 i tter removal. SECTION 2 DUTIES OF THE CLUB A. Provide litter removal from the rights-of-way on: 1. Palomar Airport Road - from El Camino Real east to the city limits (Linda Vista Lane), 2. Alga Road - Alicante to El Fuerte, including the median. 3. Coast Highway (Carlsbad Boulevard) from Palomar Airport Road to the Batiquitos Bridge, including the median. El Camino Real - Kelly Drive to Marron Road, including the 4. median from Chestnut to Marron, 5. E7 Camino Real - south from Beckman entrance to end of industrial area. 6, Cannon Road - Carlsbad Boulevard to east end. 7, Marron Road - El Camino Real to Avenida de Anita. 8. Chestnut - Monroe to E4 Camino Real. 9, Poinsettia Lane - Avenida Encinas to Batiquitos Lane.' on a once-a-month basis. Prov-ide adult supervision on the basis of one (1 1 adu7 t per faur (4) youth members. Take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of personnel involved in the litter removal efforts. B. C. D. Conduct litter removal during the period 8:OO a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Specific Saturday to be scheduled to the mutual satisfaction of the Club and City. SECTION 3 PAYMENT TO the Club on the basis of one complete litter clean-up per month in the amount of $400.00 per month during the period of this agreement. SECTION 7 NOTICES All notices required herein shall be in writing and delivered in person or sent by mail. addressed: City Kanager, 1200 Elm Avenues Carlsbad, California 92008. Notices to the Club shall be addressed: Executive Director, P. 0. Box 913, Carlsbad, California 92008.
