RESOLUTION NO. 6934
UTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY
NOVEMBER 2, 1982 FOR THE ELECTION OF A MEMBER
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY
THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES
AND CONSOLIDATING SAID ELECTION WITH THE
STATEWIDE ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE.
WHEREAS, a vacancy in the office of a member of the
City Council was created by the election of City Council Member
Mary H. Casler to the office of Mayor of the City of Carlsbad on
June 8, 1982;
WHEREAS, the term of office in which said vacancy was
created ends in June, 1984;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE
AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the
laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities
within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called
and ordered, held in the City of Carlsbad, California, on
Tuesday, November 2, 1982, a Special Municipal Election of the
qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing one
(1) member of the City Council for said City for the unexpired
term of office in which the vacancy was created by the election
of Council Member Mary H. Casler as Mayor of the City of
Carlsbad, which term ends in June, 1984.

SECTION 2. That the Special Municipal Election is
hereby ordered consolidated with the statewide election to be
on said date.
SECTION 3. That notice of the time and place of
holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is
e 11
hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further
or additional notice of said election, in time, form and manner
as required by law.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make
a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a rpcql,lar
meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on the
6th day of JUly , 1982, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES : Council Menhers Casler, Ms and Kulchin
NOES None
ABSENT: Council Merdber chick
ABSTAIN: Council Pkher Anear
