RESOLUTION NO. 6939
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH C T
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING GIRARD W.
ANEAR TO THE CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, Mary H. Casler was elected Mayor on June 8, 1982
creating a vacancy on the City Council; and
WHEREAS, on July 6, 1982 the City Council adopted Ordinance
No. 1253 requiring the calling of a special election to fill
council vacancies and authorizing the appointment of a council
member to serve until the time the election is held and the
results certified; and
WHEREAS, Girard W. Anear has indicated that he does not
intend to seek election to the vacant council seat,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitations are true and correct.
2. That Girard W. Anear is appointed to the vacant seat on
the City Council and shall serve a term which will expire on the
date that the person elected to fill the vacancy is seated,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad, held on the 6th day of
JdY , 1982, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Wers Casler, Lewis and Kd&in
