RESOLUTION NO. 7108
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE FIRST AMENDMENTS TO COUNTY CONTRACT NOS. 17241, 18350 AND 19397 REALLOCATING PROJECT BALANCES TO PROVIDE FOR COST OVERRUNS AND PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE NEW DOWNTOWN MID-BLOCK AND AT&SF PARKING LOT PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does hereby
esolve as follows:
1) That First Amendments to County Contract Nos. 17241, 18350 and 19397
f the Community Development Block Grant program, copies of which are attached
ereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof, is hereby approved.
2) That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directec
.o execute said agreement for and on behalf of the'City of*Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
;he City of Carlsbad, on the 4th day of January 1983, by the following vote to
lit:

AGREEMENT FOR MANAGEMENT AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROJECT
(COUNTY CONTRACT NO. 17241)
F I -r YdiS FIRST AIYIENDMENT to the above Agreement between the County
of San Diego and the City of Carlsbad, entered into this
day of' ,1983 by and between the COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO, a
politli-cal subdivision of the State of California (hereinafter
referred to as "County") and the CITY OF CARLSBAD, a unit of
local gcivernment included within the territorial boundaries of the County (hereinafter referred to as "City"],
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the County and the City have earlier entered into
said County Contract No. 17241 for the management and implementation
of Community Development Block Grant projects; and
WHEREAS, said Ayreement authorized funds for the construction
of street and alley improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City has requested additional funds to cover
cost overrurrs for the projects; and
balances for certain completed and cancelled City Fourth- and
WHEREAS, the additional funds are available from remaining
Fifth-Year projects;
IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Paragraph 2 of County Contract No. 17241 is amended to
read as follows:
2. COMPENSATION: County agrees to pay City total
compensation for implementation of the Projects
described herein project costs not to exceed the
sum of $197,527.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties hereto have caused this First

THIS FIRST AMENDMENT to the above Agreement between the County
of San Diego and the City of Carlsbad, entered into this
day of , 1983 by and between the COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO, a
politicL7 subdivision of the State of California (hereinafter referre6 to as "County") and the CITY OF CARLSBAD, a unit of
local government included within the territorial boundaries of the
County (hereinafter referred to as "City") I
WIT N E S S ET H:
WHEEIEAS, the County and the City have earlier entered into
said County Contract No. 18350 for the management and implementation
of Comvunity Development Block Grant projects; and
WIYEREAS, the City has requested additional funds to cover
cost overruns on the Tyler Street improvements and a reallocation
of funds for Parking Lot Construction projects; and
WHEREAS, the additional funds are available from remaining
balances of car,celled and completed City Fifth-Year and Eighth-Year
projects,

IS AGREED as follows:
Paragraph 2 of County Contract No. 18350 is amended to
read as follows:
2. COMPENSATION: County agrees to pay City total
compnsation for implementation of the projects
described herein project costs not to exceed the
sum of $180,859.
Attacbzmnt "A", "Scope of Work", items 6 and 7 of said
County Contract No, 18350 are added to read as follows:
6) Construction of an 81 space public parking lot
[approximately 70' x 470') south of Elm Avenue to
Oak Street just east of the AT&SF Railroad right-
of-way, to consist of grading, paving, striping and
landscaping -
7) Construction of 70 space mid-block public parking
lot (approximately 35,000 square feet) bounded by
Roosevelt and State ant! Grand and Elm Avenues, to
consist of grading, barrier removal, paving,
striping and landscaping.

of Cormuiiity Development Block Grant projects; and
WEEKEAS, the City has requested a reallocation of funds for a
Parking X19t Construction project; and
WHEREAS, the funds for the parking lot are available from the
Village Streetscape project,
IT IS AGREED as follows:
1, Attachment "A", "Scope of Work", item 4 of said County
Coctract No. 19397 is added to read as follows:
4) Construction of 70 space mid-block public parking
lot (approximately 35,000 square feet) bounded by
