RESOLUTION NO. 7236
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING FUNDING AND CONSTRUCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 76 FROM INTERSTATE 5 TO FRONTIER DRIVE IN THE CITY OF OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the construction of this highway will relieve
presently unacceptable levels of traffic on Mission Avenue in the
City of Oceanside; and
WHEREAS, the County Air Pollution Control Department
estimates that this traffic congestion contributes 40 tons of air
pollution contaminants per day; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project will eliminate much of the
congestion and contribute to improving air quality in the North
County; and
WHEREAS, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG)
has included the State Route 76 project in their Regional
Transportation Improvement Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad supports the State Route 76 project and
encourages the California Transportation Commission to approve
and fund the project for construction in Fiscal 1987. I //
