RESOLUTION NO. 7290
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF CARLSBAD CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE JOBS BILL, PUBLIC LAW 98-8
WHEREAS, on March 23, 1983, President Reagan signed the Jobs
Bill, Public Law 98-8; and
WHEREAS, the Small Business Administration was allocated $50
Million for a Park Restoration and Urban Reforestation Program; and
WHEREAS, the objective of this bill is to create jobs for the
unemployed and rehabilitate and improve publ ic parks and other publ icly
owned or controlled lands; and
WHEREAS, the California Conservation Corps and the California
Department of Forestry have accepted proposals for funding under a
short-term Small Business Administration,
GRANT ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct; and
2. Approves the filing of an application for funding under
the Jobs Bill, Public Law 98-8 which is administered by the Park
Restoration and Urban Reforestation Program; and
3. That the grants program will be funded 100% by the Smdll
Business Administration; and
4. Certifies that said agency understands the general provisions
of the agreement; and
5. Certifies that the project(s) included in the application
conform to the Parks & Recreation Element of the General Plan; and

6. Appoints the Director of Parks and Recreation as agent of
the City of Carlsbad to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit
a1 1 documents i ncl udi ng but not 1 imi ted to appl i cations, agreements,
amendments, payment request, and so on which may be necessary for the
completion of the aforementioned project( s).
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 19th day of
JUY , 1983, by the following vote, to wit:
