RESOLUTION NO. 7389
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SUBMIT A LITERACY GRANT
APPLJ CAT1 ON.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California recognizes
the need to wage a campaign to combat adult illiteracy to the maximum degree; and
WHEREAS the Carlsbad City Library, in conjunction with the Oceanside
Public Library and Vista Branch of the San Diego County Library, wishes to submit
an application for a literacy grant made available under the Library Services
and Construction Act (LSCA);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That staff is hereby authorized and directed to submit said
application.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
California at a regular meeting held the 1st day of November , 1983,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Mankrs Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Prescott
