RESOLUTION NO. 7400
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHFIENT OF A TRAFFIC DIVISION IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS.

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to proceed with the
establishment of a traffic division in the Police Department, and
WHEREAS, the creation of this division would require the
addition of one sergeant, two patrol officers, two police vehicles,
and other equipment and furnishing at a cost of $97,000, and
WHEREAS, the cost of implementing this program should be
funded from the General Fund Contengiency Accounts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad that staff is hereby directed to proceed with
the establishment of the traffic division and that $97,000 be
transferred from the General Fund Contingency Account to the
Police Department operating budget.
