RESOLUTION NO. 7736
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING
SUPPORT OF THE ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, teenage alcohol and drug abuse and misuse are of significant
concern, and
WHEREAS, in an effort to confront school-age alcohol and drug abuse in
communities in San Diego County, there has been established an Alcohol and
Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force (ADAPT), and
WHEREAS, the City Counci 1 recognizes the importance of civic 1 eaders ,
educators , parents and all community members working together to combat this
significant problem, and
WHEREAS, it is our belief that this task force will be effective in working
together in a unified effort with other community organizations to attack the
problem of teenage substance abuse.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Carlsbad
does hereby express its strong support of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Prevention Task Force and will support the efforts of same in working with
3ther community organizations and citizen groups in focusing attention on this
Drobl em.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad be,
and she is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to
Bill Mitchell , Chairman of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Task Force.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad held the 18th day of September y 1984,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council "hers Casler, Lewis, Qlick and Prescott
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Mmber Kulchin LdL MARY H. CPLER, Mayor
