RESOLUTION NO. 79 37
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN TO CHANGE THE LAND USE DESIGNA-
TIONS OF TWO AREAS OF THE CITY'S GENERAL PLAN. GPA/LU 84-11 (FIRST DARTHRON) AND GPA/LU 84-7 (KIRGIS
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on January 23, 1985
hold a duly noticed public hearing as prescribed by law to
consider amendments to the Land Use Element of the General Plan
GPA/LU 84-11 and GPA/LU 84-7; and
WHEREAS, the Land Use Planning Manager and the Planning
Commission have determined that the amendments will not have any
significant impacts on the environment and Negative Declarations
dated January 8, 1985 and October 4, 1982 respectively have been
prepared, filed and approved by the Planning Commission on
January 23, 1985, in satisfaction of the requirements of the Cit
of Carlsbad Environmental Protection Ordinance of 1980 and the
California Environmental Quality Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did on March 5, 1985 hold
a duly advertised public hearing to consider said amendments and
at said time received the recommendations, objections, protests
and comments of all interested persons desiring to be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council after considering the propose
changes to the Land Use Element of the General Plan, directed th
City Attorney to return with appropriate documents to amend the
Land Use Element of the General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California as follows:
A. That the above recitations are true and correct.
B. That this resolution constitutes a single amendment
to the Land Use Element of the General Plan.

C. That the findings of the Planning Commission as set
forth in Planning Commission Resolutions No. 2405 (GPA/LU 84-11)
and 2407 (GPA/LU 84-7) constitute the findings of the City
Council.
D. That the Land Use Element of the Genral Plan is
amended as follows:
1. GPA/LU 84-11: Change the Land Use Element from
Low-Medium Density (RLM/O-4 du*s/acre) to Medium Density (RM-4-
lO/du’s/acre) on property generally located between Elm Avenue
and Hosp Way at the Forest Street stub as shown on the map markec
Exhibit A 10-24-84 attached hereto and made a part hereof.
2. GPA/LU 84-7: Change the Land Use Element from
Non-Residential Reserve (NNR) to Residential-Low Density (RL-O-
1.5 du’s/acre) on a 21.9 acre parcel on property generally
located between the southerly edge of the Kelly Ranch and Macaric
Canyon Park, approximately one mile west of El Camino Real as
shown on the map marked Exhibit B 12-21-84 attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of thc
Carlsbad City Council held on the lgth day of March 1985
by the following vote, to wit:
