RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPROVING APPLICATION
FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE REGIONAL COMPETITIVE
PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA PARK AND RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES ACT OF 1984 FOR CALAVERA HILLS COM- MUNITY CENTER.
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have
enacted the Cailfornia Park and Recreational Facilities Act of
1984, which provides funds to the State of California and its
political subdivisions for developing facilities for public
recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation
has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of
the program within the state, setting up necessary procedures
governing application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State
Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to
certify by resolution the approval of applications before
submission of said applications to the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that
the applicant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an
agreement with the State of California for development,
rehabilitation, or restoration of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad hereby;
1. That the above recitations are true and correct; and
2. Approves the filing of an application for 1984 state
grant assistance for the above project; and

3. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances
nd certification in the application; and
4. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient
'unds to operate and maintain the project, and if the project
.s selected for state grant funding;
5. Certifies that said organization will provide construction
)lans and specifications to the state within one year of the
tppropriation of funds under this program and will commence work
.mmediately after state approval; and
6. Appoints the Director of Parks and Recreation as agent
)f the City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all
iocuments, including but not limited to applications, agreements,
imendments, payment requests, and so on, which may be necessary
:or the completion of the aforementioned project.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED, by the City Council of the City
If Carlsbad at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
24th day of Septemker 1985, by the following vote, to wit:
